Hey, I’m Kurin.

I’ve seriously loved movies since before I could speak.

Being a kid in the ’80s and a teenager in the ’90s means those two decades are pretty deeply baked into my movie-loving brain. John Hughes? GINORMOUS fan. His movies were coming out while I was in my adolescence, and somehow each one managed to resonate with me in a different way.

Then there’s Ace Ventura movies, The Crow, Something's Gotta Give, The Pirates' franchise, the Karate Kid movies, the Twilight movies, Moulin Rouge, The Terminator franchise (the OG, T2, and Dark Fate — and I will absolutely die on that hill), M. Night Shyamalan movies, and sooooo many others that still live rent-free in my brain decades later.

I also love the MCU. And the OG Star Wars trilogy movies. Because holy shit, those movies are well done.

I also have a ridiculous number of movie one-liners permanently lodged in my brain, which means you should probably expect some of them to randomly escape my mouth at any given time.

So why Movie Night with Kurin?

Because I love movies. I love podcasts. And I love that feeling when you’re listening to someone talk and it feels like you’re just hanging out with friends.

I went looking for a fun, entertaining movie podcast that gave me that feeling.

I found some great ones — but I never quite found the one I wanted to listen to.

So... I made it.

Movie Night with Kurin is basically movie night with a friend who happens to have a microphone.

We’ll revisit old favorites, discover forgotten gems, talk about new movies, laugh at the ridiculous shit we just watched, obsess over the stuff that worked, bitch about the stuff that absolutely did not, and ask the all-important question:

Is it worth the rewatch?

Come hang out.

More than anything, I want you to finish an episode feeling like you just spent some time with a friend.

Maybe I made you laugh. Maybe I reminded you of a movie you haven't thought about in years. Maybe I described something in a way that made you immediately want to watch it.

Or maybe we just spent an hour being total movie dorks together.

Whatever the reason, I want you to have fun — and I want you to come back for more.

And eventually, we'll have a community where we can share movie recommendations, thoughts, ideas, ridiculous opinions, and whatever other nonsense comes up.

So grab some popcorn, settle in, and hang out for a while.

Welcome to Movie Night with Kurin.

And if you have virgin ears... click away now. I swear. A lot.
